Project description:
The current recommendation is to apply lime for the corn-soybean rotation when soil pH drops to 5.6. However, there is evidence that lime application is profitable in southeast NE at higher pH. The objective of this research is to fine-tune the lime use recommendation. Four on-farm trials were established in 2001 in Gage and Washington counties. Treatments include lime applied at 0, 1, 2, 3 ton/A ECCE. Lime was incorporated with a single disking. Soil pH for the trial sites ranged from 5.5 to 5.7.
Key results:
There was not a yield response to lime application at any site in 2001 and 2002.
