Project description:

Rainfed corn production has a slim profit potential.  Satisfying corn nutrient needs is essential for maximum return. However, yield is determined by annual weather conditions and producers need to fertilize with the knowledge that corn may not reach its yield potential and hence, not utilize all nutrients provided.

A series of nitrogen and phosphorus treatments are applied annually to develop a database of corn response to two practices: sidedress N versus at planting N; knife vs starter applied P application.
